This Sunday: Help Us Tell Our Real Story

If you've looked at our website lately, you've probably noticed something: a lot of those smiling faces on it aren't us. They're stock photos — the same friendly strangers you'll find on hundreds of other church websites across the country. It's time for that to change.
We're updating the Two Rivers UMC website, and we want every photo and video on it to be real. Real people. Real events. Real moments of what God is doing among us. No more polished stock footage standing in for the actual, specific community God is building here.
Here's why that matters. When someone is searching for a church, the website is usually the first impression — often before they ever walk through a door. And what people are looking for isn't a flawless, magazine-quality production. They're looking for themselves. They want to see if there's a place for them here: people who look like them, ages like theirs, families like theirs, or simply faces that feel warm and welcoming rather than staged. A stock photo can look professional, but it can never look like us. Authenticity builds trust in a way polish never can — and trust is exactly what someone needs to feel before they're willing to try a new church.
So this Sunday, we're doing something about it. We'll be taking photos and video at Sunday Supper, and we want you there — not just for the meal and the fellowship, but as part of the story we're telling the world. Come ready to be seen. Bring your kids, bring your friends, bring your whole, real self. If you'd rather not be photographed, that's completely okay — just let our photo team know when you arrive, and they'll make sure to work around you.
This isn't just about a better website. It's about showing anyone who's curious about Two Rivers exactly who God is bringing together in this new church — and inviting them to imagine themselves right there with us.
